AWARDS CRITERIA

 

 

The Awards of the Heritage Railway Association are based on the following criteria.

 

THE PETER MANISTY AWARD

 

The most prestigious award given by the Association. This Award is given on an occasional basis for an exceptional contribution to railway preservation.

 

ANNUAL AWARD (LARGE GROUPS)

 

This Award is made to a HRA member organisation for an outstanding achievement in railway preservation. The member must have a turnover of at least £100,000 to qualify in the category.

 

ANNUAL AWARD (SMALL GROUPS)

 

This Award is made to a HRA member organisation for an outstanding achievement in railway preservation. The member must have a turnover of less than £100,000 to qualify in the category.

 

THE JOHN COILEY AWARD

 

This Award is made to a HRA member who has done outstanding work in the field of locomotive preservation.

 

SPECIAL AWARD FOR A MERITORIOUS PROJECT

 

This Award is made to an organisation who in the opinion of the Association has embarked on a meritorious project.

 

MORTON'S MEDIA (HERITAGE RAILWAY MAGAZINE) INTERPRETATION AWARD

 

This Award is sponsored by Morton's Media and is given to a group deemed to have achieved a high level of interpretation on a project.

 

MORTON'S MEDIA (RAIL EXPRESS MAGAZINE) MODERN TRACTION AWARD

 

An Award for those involved in the preservation of Modern Traction.

 

THE RAILWAY MAGAZINE AWARD for SERVICES TO RAILWAY PRESERVATION.

 

This Award is given to an individual for services to Railway Preservation.

 

STEAM RAILWAY MAGAZINE AWARD

 

This Award is voted on by the readers of Steam Railway Magazine and is given to the organisation achieving most votes.

 

CARRIAGE & WAGON COMPETITION 2016

 

The 2016 competition is now closed and judging is in progress. Awards will be presented in 2018.
