Garry Mumford

Garry Mumford is a highly experienced Chartered Certified Accountant and Finance Director.

After training in industry and holding various senior roles, he founded Insight Associates in 1992, a boutique financial management outsourcer working with growing ambitious businesses in the UK and around the world. Based in Stansted in Essex, Insight Associates employs a diverse and experienced team of finance professionals supporting its clients in building best financial management practice through its outsourced finance department model.

A keen railway enthusiast since an early age, Garry started volunteering on the Talyllyn Railway in 1992 and became its Chief Financial Officer in 2005. He was in addition appointed Group Finance Director of the North Yorkshire Moors Railway in 2017. Both railways also now being clients of Insight Associates.

Now probably one of the most experienced finance professionals in the heritage railway sector, Garry is keen to use his skills to the benefit of the wider movement through the Heritage Railway Association.

Garry is married, with two adult children, and one grandchild. He recently moved from Essex to Bishops Cleeve in Gloucestershire.
