RM3 Heritage Workshop - Kent

RM3 Heritage Workshop - Kent

Register now

Three years ago the ORR rolled-out their Risk Management Maturity Model to the heritage rail sector and two years ago they introduced Topic Set 1 for Heritage Railways.

But who’s using it? And how are you getting on?

The ORR are keen for heritage railways to use RM3 to help continuously improve health and safety management capability, so the ORR and the HRA are running six RM3 Heritage Workshops at various locations around the country.

Booking is now open for our first workshop which is ideally suited to those in the South East of England.

Date: Thursday, 12 January 2023

Venue: Kent and East Sussex Railway, Tenterden Town Station

Time: 09:30 (for 10:00 start) to 16:15 (approximately)

Free of charge to all HRA members and minor railways

Places at each event are being limited to around 40 people so, initially, we can only accept two registrations from each railway. If you have more than two people wanting to attend, please email their details to Amy at the HRA for the waiting list; amy.sugrue@hra.uk.com

Refreshments throughout the day and a light lunch will be provided.

We expect that places will be taken up quite quickly, so it is advisable to book early.

Bookings for the Kent workshop are open until 10am on Friday, 6 January.

The workshops are open to all standard gauge, narrow gauge and 15” gauge railways, and all other railways and tramways regulated by the ORR. Operators of funicular railways are also welcome to attend.

The principal speaker will be Mark Griffiths, ORR’s SMS Policy and RM3 manager, and each workshop will include:

  • Introductions from the HRA and ORR

  • Safety in the sector

  • Management systems

  • Case studies on using RM3

  • A collaborative heritage railway focussed RM3 learning exercise

The day will also provide a comprehensive opportunity for candid discussion, feedback and networking.

This complimentary event is being run by the ORR in conjunction with the HRA.

The ORR would like every operating railway to attend, and the event is open to non HRA heritage railway operators.
