Principal Activity
The IRRS, founded in 1946, caters for all who are interested in Irish railways and tramways. The Society Journal, published three times per year, records the history of Irish railway and tramway transport, along with comprehensive coverage of current developments. Regular meetings are held in Dublin, Cork and London for presentations on historical and current affairs, with slides, films and DVDs. Dublin meetings are normally held on the second and fourthThursdays of each month during the winter months at the Society premises at Heuston Station, where the Society’s library, archives and small exhibits displays are also located. The Society library is open onTuesdays 19:30 -21:45, September to July, except Christmas and NewYear, and the month of January.
