JM Steam Engineering Ltd was established in 2019 after seeing an opening in the market for high quality and reliable locomotive repair, overhaul and other engineering services to the heritage railway sector. Passionate in being able to repair, maintain and overhaul steam locomotives in the proper manner, the directors who founded the company - Frank Boait and Jonathan Muirhead - have, between them over 40 years’ experience of locomotive maintenance and repair, working for one of the UK’s major heritage railways. The company has an agreement with the Buckinghamshire Railway Centre to share engineering facilities which are currently being extended to accommodate additional machinery and equipment. They can assist you with your overhauls, undertake running repairs or provide a solution to many of the seemingly intractable problems encountered when operating a steam locomotive.
